·               Save the file NP_WD365_2021_5b_FirstLastName_1.docx as NP_WD365_2021_5b_FirstLastName_2.docx

o      Edit the file name by changing “1” to “2”.

o      If you do not see the .docx file extension, do not type it. The file extension will be added for you automatically.

·               To complete this Project, you will also need the following files:

o      Support_WD365_2021_5b_Author.docx

·               With the file NP_WD365_2021_5b_FirstLastName_2.docx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the footer.

o      If the footer does not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.

PROJECT STEPS

1.        As the owner of On Board, a small business that provides orientation services to international students, you are writing an article about starting a business that will be published in an online magazine for recent college graduates. You need to customize elements of the document and its formatting to be consistent with other magazine articles.

Apply the Basic (Simple) style set to use the standard style set for the magazine's documents.

2.        On page 1, change the color of the underlining for the text "On Board" to Dark Gray, Text 2 to coordinate with the surrounding text.

3.        In the second paragraph on page 2 ("Following is a…can be worth it."), use the Thesaurus to find a synonym for "route" that begins with the letter "p" to use a more familiar term.

4.        Modify and update a paragraph style as follows to call attention to the topics in the "First Steps" section:

a.        Change the character spacing of the text in the "Refine Your Business Idea" heading to Expanded by 1.2 point.

b.        Change the font color of the "Refine Your Business Idea" heading to Red, Accent 1, Darker 50%.

c.        Update the List Heading paragraph style to reflect the formatting changes.

5.        Apply the Bullet Intro character style to the "Network" text in the second bulleted item to match the other bulleted items in the "First Steps" section.

6.        Apply Small caps to the text "Small Business Administration (SBA)" in the "Business plan" bulleted paragraph to match the formatting of the other organization names.

7.        Create and insert a Quick Part as follows to include content that the magazine requires from all authors:

a.        Open the file Support_WD365_2021_5b_Author.docx and then save the two paragraphs as a Quick Part using Author as the name of the Quick Part.

b.        Insert the Author Quick Part in the blank paragraph at the end of the document to provide biographical information to the magazine.

c.        Close Support_WD365_2021_5b_Author.docx.

8.        Return to page 1 to insert a table of contents as follows:

a.        In the blank paragraph after the "Guide for Entrepreneurial Grads" heading, insert a custom table of contents.

b.        Select the Simple format for the table of contents.

c.        In the Table of Contents Options dialog box, remove the Heading 3 style from the table of contents.

d.        Change the TOC level of the List Heading style to 2.
Finish inserting the table of contents using defaults for all other options.

9.        On page 3, apply the Heading 2 style to the "Build a Team" paragraph to format it as a heading in the "Next Steps" section.

10.     Update the table of contents to reflect the change to the document.
