Illustrated PowerPoint 365 | Module 1: SAM Project B Tours with Iceland Adventures

GETTING STARTED

1. Save the file IL_PPT365_1B_FirstLastName_1.pptx as IL_PPT365_1B_FirstLastName_2.pptx

a. Edit the file name by changing “1” to “2”.

b. If you do not see the .pptx file extension, do not type it. The file extension will be added for you automatically.

2. To complete this Project, you will also need the following files:

Support_PPT365_1B_IceCave.jpg

3. With the file IL_PPT365_1B_FirstLastName_2.pptx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.

a. If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.

PROJECT STEPS

1. You are in charge of promoting tours offered by Iceland Adventures, a small company that offers three-day and seven-day guided tours of Iceland. You create a presentation to describe the tours for delivery to groups of interested travelers in the community. Start by formatting the presentation as follows:

a. Change the Theme Colors to Blue to match company branding.

b. On the Title Slide ("Iceland Adventures"), resize the picture to 13.4" wide so that it covers the entire width of the slide.

2. On Slide 2 ("Two Tour Durations Available"), edit the bulleted lists as follows:

a. Change the font size of the words "Three Days" and "Seven Days" to 28 point.

b. Bold the words "Three Days" and "Seven Days" to draw attention to them.

c. Delete the word "fabulous" in the bullet item "Akureyri and Lake Mývatn in the fabulous North" so the line doesn't wrap.

3. With Slide 2 still displaying, enter the text Ask how many people have visited Iceland. into the Notes pane.

4. On Slide 3 ("See the Northern Lights!"), change the slide layout to Picture with Caption to adjust the readability of the slide.

5. Insert a new Slide 4 using the Two Content layout and then enter and format text to focus the audience's attention as follows:

a. Enter Glacier Adventures as the title.

b. In the left placeholder, add two bullets: Enter Ice Cave Tour and Glacier Walk.

c. Underline the word "Glacier."

6. On Slide 5 ("Why Choose Iceland Adventures?"), italicize the text "maximum size of 16" to draw attention to it.

7. With Slide 5 still displaying, modify the bulleted list text as follows:

a. Increase the indent of "Moderate activity level" by one level.

b. Decrease the indent of "Highly rated with a perfect safety record" by one level.

8. Remaining on Slide 5, select all the text in the placeholder, and then change the font color to Blue-Gray, Text 2 (5th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette).

9. On Slide 6 ("What's Included?"), balance the visual elements in the slide as follows:

a. Apply bullets to the items in the left content placeholder.

b. Use the right content placeholder to insert the file Support_PPT365_1B_IceCave.jpg.

c. Resize the picture height to 3.8".

10. Move Slide 7 to become the last slide in the presentation, Slide 8.

11. Check the Spelling in the presentation to identify and correct any spelling errors. Accept all suggested spelling changes.

12. You decide to send the presentation to another colleague in the marketing department to review the branding. Change the theme to Office to simplify the design elements.

In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
