PROJECT STEPS

1. You work as a content creator for Clarity Communicators, a company that teaches business people how to speak and write effectively. A local job recruitment agency has asked you to put together a presentation on public speaking tips to deliver to a group of recent college graduates. Start by creating a custom design element on the Slide 1 title slide ("Dynamic Public Speaking") as follows:

a. Use Smart Guides to position the red lightning bolt on top of the gold star shape as shown in Figure 1.

b. Send the red lightning bolt shape to the back.

c. With the red lightning bold shape still selected, press and hold Ctrl and select the gold star shape so both shapes are selected. Merge the two shapes using the Combine option.

d. Change the merged shape's height to 2" and the width to 2".

e. Use Smart Guides to position the merged shape below "Clarity Communicators" as shown in Figure 2.

b. Apply the Glow: 8 point; Red, Accent color 1 Glow shape effect to the arrow.

c. Flip the arrow horizontally.

d. Send the arrow to the back of the slide.

e. Group the arrow, the picture, and the "Smile!" text box into one shape.

3. On Slide 2 ("Tip #1: Know Your Subject"), copy and align shapes to highlight key points as follows:

a. Copy one of the rectangular shapes, and then paste it on the same slide.

b. Change the text to: Get Feedback

c. Use Smart Guides to position the "Get Feedback" rectangle below the "Practice" rectangle, as shown in Figure 3.

d. Use Align Right to align the three rectangular objects to each other.

e. Use Distribute Vertically to distribute the selected objects to each other.

a. Insert the Cloud shape from the Basic Shapes section of the Shapes gallery.

b. Resize the cloud shape to a height of 4" and the width to 5".

c. Insert the file Support_PPT365_2B_Engage.jpg available for download from the website as a picture fill in the shape.
