GETTING STARTED
1. Save the file IL_WD365_11B_FirstLastName_1.docx as IL_WD365_11B_FirstLastName_2.docx
a. Edit the file name by changing “1” to “2”.
b. If you do not see the .docx file extension, do not type it. The file extension will be added for you automatically.
2. To complete this Project, you will also need the following files:
Support_WD365_11B_Testimonial.docx
3. With the file IL_WD365_11B_FirstLastName_2.docx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the footer.
a. If the footer does not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.
PROJECT STEPS
1. You work for Clearline Events, a New York-based company that helps individuals and organizations plan special events. Your supervisor, Josef Mkambo, has written a one-page event planning checklist to distribute to potential clients to help them plan their event. Josef asks you to format the document and also to create a macro to format a testimonial of a client's event planning experience with Clearline Events that you'll include on a separate page. Modify the page color by applying the Dotted 5% pattern fill (1st column, 1st row in the selection of patterns) to lighten up the document and make it easier to read.
2. Format the picture of the notepads to give it more impact as follows:
a. Remove the background from the picture so only the checklist with the pencilis left (don't worry if a bit of top is cut off).
b. Apply the Light Screen artistic effect.
3. Modify the lightning bolt shape:
a. Change the lightning bolt shape to a Smiley Face shape.
b. Format the shape with the Round bevel effect.
4. Group the happy face shape and the notepad picture into one object so that you can easily move it to another location in the document.
5. Change the Text Wrapping to Square so none of the text is covered.
6. Select the words "goals and objectives", "date," and "budget" in the numbered list , then create a character style called Priority that uses the following formats: Bold,Underline, and the Turquoise, Accent 1 font color (5th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette).
7. Select "goals and objectives" and modify the Priority character style as follows:
a. Remove the underlining.
b. Change the Font color to Blue, Accent 2 (6th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette).
c. Update the Priority character style to match the selection.
8. Convert the table that appears below the text "Here's a table to fill…six major event components" to text so all the information appears on page 1 of the document.
9. To the right of the tabbed text, insert a text box and format as follows:
a. Select the Simple Text Box.
b. Enter the text Stay on Budget!
c. Change the width of the text box to 1.7".
d. Apply Bold to the text.
e. Change the font size to 16 point so the text appears over two lines.
f. Center the text in the text box.
g. Apply the Moderate Effect – Blue, Accent 2 shape style (3rd column, 5th row in the Theme Styles palette).
h. Move the text box to the right of the tabbed text so the top is even with the third line of tabbed text. See Figure 1.

10. At the top of the document, insert and modify a 3D model of balloons to add excitement to the document as follows:
a. Search for balloons in the selection of Stock 3D Models.
b. Insert the 3D model of balloons that appears in the 3rd column of the 1st row of the search results.
c. Change the 3D Model Views option to back.
d. Change the text wrapping to Square.
e. Change the width to 1.5".
f. Adjust the position of the 3D model so it appears to the right of the document title. See Figure 2.

11. Save the document and keep it open, and then start a new blank document.
12. Set up the new document as follows:
a. Show the Developer tab if it is not already displayed on the Ribbon.
b. Show the paragraph marks, if necessary
c. Press ENTER three times, then save the blank document as SC_WD365_11B_FirstLastName_3.docx.
13. Record a macro as follows:
a. Name the macro Testimonial.
b. Enter the following description in the Description box: Select all the text, change the line spacing to double, change the font to Arial and 16 pt, and insert a fill-in text box.
c. Exit the Record Macro dialog box.
14. Perform the macro steps on the four blank lines in the blank document as follows:
a. Press CTRL+A to select all the paragraph marks.
b. Press CTRL+2 to turn on double spacing.
c. Select the Arial font.
d. Change the font size to 16 pt.
e. Press the up arrow once.
f. Insert a Fill-in box from the selection of fields.
g. Click OK.
h. Press ENTER.
15. Stop the macro recording, then save and close the document but do not exit Word.
16. Open Support_WD365_11B_Testimonial.docx, save it as SC_WD365_11B_FirstLastName_4.docx, then run the Testimonial macro, entering Leila Dupont in the Fill-in text box.
17. Copy the formatted text to the Information Sheet as follows:
a. Copy all the text.
b. Return to the SC_WD365_11B_FirstLastName_2.docx document.
c. Add a hard page break at the bottom of the page.
d. Paste the copied text.
Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following pages. Save your changes, close the document, and then exit Word. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
