PROJECT STEPS

1. As a consultant for Bailey Management Consultants, you are creating a guide that provides small businesses with information about how to develop a strategic plan. You started the guide using a template, and you now need to customize elements of the document and its formatting to be consistent with other company materials. Apply the Centered style set to use the standard style set for the business guides produced by Bailey Management Consultants.

2. On page 1, change the color of the underlining for "Prepared by Bailey Management Consultants" to Blue, Accent 2 to match the color applied to the website address.

3. In the first sentence on page 2 ("Strategic planning is a process…goals and objectives."), use the Thesaurus to find a synonym for "determines" that begins with the letter "e" to use a more common, appropriate term.

4. Modify and update a paragraph style as follows to call attention to the content in the "What is a Strategic Plan?" section:

a. Change the character spacing of the text in the "What is a Strategic Plan?" heading to Expanded by 1.3 point.

b. Change the font color of the "What is a Strategic Plan?" heading to Blue, Accent 2.

c. Update the Heading 1 paragraph style to reflect the formatting changes and apply them to other headings formatted with the Heading 1 style.

5. Apply the Questions character style to the "What are your marketing methods and how…" text below the third bulleted item in the "Step 1: Conduct an Environmental Scan" section to match the other bulleted items.

6. Create and insert a Quick Part as follows to include content that Bailey Management Consultants includes in all client documents:

a. Open the file Support_WD365_5A_About.docx and then save the two paragraphs as a Quick Part using Bailey as the name of the Quick Part.

b. Insert the Bailey Quick Part in the blank paragraph below the Conclusion at the end of the document to provide information about Bailey Management Consultants.

c. Close Support_WD365_5A_About.docx.

7. Apply All caps to the hyperlink "www.bailey.cengage.com" on page 3 and then center it to match the formatting of the website address on the first page.

8. Return to page 1 to insert a table of contents as follows:

a. In the blank paragraph below the website address, insert a custom table of contents.

b. Select the Formal format for the table of contents.

c. In the Table of Contents Options dialog box, remove the Heading 3 style from the table of contents.

d. Finish inserting the table of contents using defaults for all other options.

9. On page 3, apply the Heading 2 style to the "Step 4: Execute and Manage the Plan" paragraph to match the other headings containing "Step."

10. Update the table of contents to reflect the change to the document.

Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following pages. Save your changes, close the document, and then exit Word. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
