Support_WD365_7B_Greta.docx

Support_WD365_7B_Statistics.xlsx

PROJECT STEPS

1. As the conference coordinator for Addison Initiatives, a non-profit agency dedicated to facilitating healthcare projects worldwide, you are helping Greta Mitrovic, the director of the agency, to create a report summarizing the Global Health Conference that was held virtually with participants from 49 countries. The report, which includes recommendations for future conferences, will be posted on the agency's website along with a recording of the three-hour virtual conference. Greta has reviewed a draft of the report using tracked changes. You will add her comments and revisions to your copy of the report and then complete it. Combine documents as follows to incorporate Greta's revisions and comments into your copy of the report:

a. Combine your document (the original document) with the file Support_WD365_7B_Greta.docx. [Mac Hint: If prompted, select the file to grant access.]

b. Select all the Comparison settings and show changes in the original document at Word level.

2. Turn on Track Changes and display All Markup for review. Accept and reject tracked changes in the document as follows:

a. Accept the changes on the title page, and then accept the changes in the first body paragraph under the "Introduction" heading because the changes improve the paragraph.

b. In the second body paragraph, reject the change to the text "global" so that the bold formatting is removed.

c. Accept the remaining changes in the document, which are also improvements.

3. On page 2, with Tracked Changes on, apply the Heading 1 style to the heading "Conference Overview" because this heading begins a new major topic.

4. Turn off Track Changes. Insert a hyperlink as follows to make it easy for readers to access an external document:

a. In the sentence "Here is a summary of the feedback received…" under the "Conference Statistics" heading on page 3, format the word "summary" as a hyperlink that targets the document Support_WD365_7B_Feedback.docx.

b. Add a ScreenTip with the following text: Click to open a selection of comments made by conference attendees.

5. Read the first comment in the document, and then respond to Greta's request as follows:

a. Replace the text [Pie Chart] following the paragraph on page 3 below the heading "Conference Statistics " with a pie chart.

b. Type the chart data as shown in Table 1.

c. Change the chart colors to Colorful Palette 4.

Table 1: Pie Chart Data

| Attendees Africa | 16 Asia | 25 Europe | 42 North America | 53 South America | 15 Oceania | 34

6. Read the second comment in the document, and then respond to Greta's request as follows:

a. Open the workbook Support_WD365_7B_Statistics.xlsx.

b. In the Projects worksheet, copy the column chart.

c. Return to the report document, move the insertion point to where Greta instructs you to insert a column chart, and delete the text as directed (but leave a blank line).

d. Link the chart to the document using the destination theme to keep the chart data the same in both locations while using the report document's theme.

e. Close Support_WD365_7B_Statistics.xlsx.

7. Modify the linked chart as follows to suit the design of the Word document and to update data:

a. In the report document, add Project Funding: 2027 to 2028 as the chart title using the Above Chart position.

b. Change the chart style to Style 6 and add data labels above each column.

8. Read the next comment in the document, and then continue editing as follows:

a. Open the workbook Support_WD365_7B_Attendees.xlsx.

b. In the Attendees worksheet, copy cells A1:G8.

c. Return to the report document, move the insertion point to where Greta instructs you to insert the data about attendees, and delete the text as directed (but leave or add a blank line).

d. Paste the worksheet selection in the Word document using the Picture paste option so that it retains the layout of the original worksheet and one blank line appears between the table and the next heading. The source data is unlikely to change, so you do not need to link it to the source file.

e. Close Support_WD365_7B_Attendees.xlsx.

9. Delete all the comments in the document because they are no longer needed and accept any remaining changes.

10. On page 4 in the document, insert a bookmark to the "Recommendations" heading using Recommendations as the bookmark name.

11. At the end of the last sentence in paragraph 1 under the "Introduction" heading on page 2 of the document, format the word "Recommendations" as a hyperlink to the "Recommendations" bookmark.

Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following pages. Save your changes, close the document, and then exit Word. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
