PROJECT STEPS
1. Dairy State Community College has four locations in the state of Wisconsin, and each campus has an alumni association, which serves as a center for fundraising and promotion of the college. You work in the main alumni association office as an information specialist and are developing an Access database to track alumni data for all four campuses. The office manager asked you to modify some forms to make them easier to use and to create a new form for handling program data. Open the StaffUpdates form in Layout View and bold the Position control so it stands out. Save and close the form.
2. The association directors would prefer a summary of family income data rather than the detail shown in the DonorIncomeByLevel report. Open the DonorIncomeByLevel report in Layout View and then create a summary report. Save and close the report.
3. Fundraisers need to easily identify families with higher incomes. Open the FamilyIncome report in Layout View. Average the values in the Income column. If a value in the Income column is greater than or equal to $100,000, display the value in a bold, Maroon font (6th column, 1st row in the Standard Colors palette). Preview the report to check that the values in the subtotal controls are displayed completely. If necessary, expand the size of the controls. Confirm that your report matches Figure 1, and then save and close the report.

4. Staff have asked for a form for entering and updating program data. Using the Form Wizard, create a form for the Programs table. Include the ProgramCode, Description, Director, MinParticipants, and Budget fields on the form. Use a columnar layout for the form and use ProgramUpdates as the name of the form. Close the form.
5. A fundraiser is planning a visit to Dane county and wants to review data on the families in that county. Open the FamilyUpdates form in Form View. Create an advanced filter that sorts the LastName field in ascending order and restricts retrieval to only those records where the County field value equals "Dane". Toggle the filter to confirm that it is working. (Hint: The form should include only four records.) Save and close the form.
6. Open the CampusUpdates form in Layout View, and then add the current date to the form using the format day-month-year (e.g., 11-Mar-24). Do not include the time. Save and close the form.
Save and close any open objects in your database. Compact and repair your database, close it, and then exit Access. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
