PROJECT STEPS
1. Dairy State Community College has four locations in the state of Wisconsin, and each campus has an alumni association, which serves as a center for fundraising and promotion of the college. You work in the main alumni association office as an information specialist and are developing an Access database to track alumni data for all four campuses. After reviewing the StaffByCampus report, association directors ask you to change the design to make the report easier to use. Open the StaffByCampus report in Design View. Add the CampusName field to the CampusID Header so that the left edge of the control is at the 3.5" mark on the horizontal ruler. Confirm that the report matches Figure 1, and then save the report without closing it.
2. With the StaffByCampus report still open in Design View, select the text box controls in the Detail section (StaffID, FirstName, LastName, Position) simultaneously. Group the controls and resize them by dragging the right edge of the FirstName text box to the 5" mark on the horizontal ruler. Bold the controls so the contents stand out. Resize the Detail section to a height of 2". Confirm that the report matches Figure 1, and then save and close the report.

3. Open the FamilyDonorLevels report in Design View, and then change the Alternate Back Color property for the Detail section to No Color to improve the report appearance. Display the report in Report View, and then save and close the report.
4. The FamiliesByCounty report is too wide, and the controls need to be arranged so the contents are easier to read. Open the FamiliesByCounty report in Design View. Move the Income label and text box control so that they appear below the LastName control. The bottom-left edge of the text box should be at the 1" mark on the vertical ruler and the 2" mark on the horizontal ruler. Align the right edge of the Income label with the right edge of the Last Name label. Align the Street, City, and PostalCode text box controls to the left. Save but do not close the report.
5. With the FamiliesByCounty report open in Design View, change the margins to Normal. Resize the width of the report so that the right border is at the 7" mark on the horizontal ruler. Add a Page N page number to the center of the Page Footer section. Reduce the height of the Page Header and Report Footer sections to 0". Confirm that the report matches Figure 2, and then save and close the report.

6. Some addresses in the AddressList report are being truncated and the labels are difficult to read. Open the AddressList report in Design View. Select all the labels in the Page Header section and bold the labels. Change the Can Grow property of the Street control in the Detail section to Yes. Resize the Detail section to a height of 0.5". Confirm that the report matches Figure 3, and then save and close the report.

7. Alumni association directors have requested a report that shows average incomes for the counties where the alumni reside. Open the IncomeByCounty report in Design View. Add a footer section to the Group on County section, then add a text box control in the County Footer section. The left edge of the control is at the 5" mark on the horizontal ruler. Convert the text box control into a calculated control that averages the Income field. (Hint: Your control should contain the formula =Avg([Income]).) Format the control so that it displays as currency with 0 decimal places. Change the label using Average Income as the label text, resizing the label as necessary to display the full text. Confirm that the report matches Figure 4, and then save and close the report.

8. One director has asked you to create a grouped and sorted report that they can later modify according to their specific needs. Open the AlumniByFamily report in Design View. Group the report by the FamilyID field, and then sort the report by the AlumniID field in ascending order. Do not add any additional grouping or sorting options. Save and close the report.
Save and close any open objects in your database. Compact and repair your database, close it, and then exit Access. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
