PROJECT STEPS
1. Elise Usoro is a senior purchasing manager for Elite Fashion, a clothing and design company in Los Angeles, California. She has created a workbook projecting the company's orders and inventory, and asks for your help in completing and formatting the projections. Go to the Orders worksheet. Rename the Orders worksheet to use Orders and Inventory as the worksheet name.
2. Unfreeze the top 2 rows of the worksheet, and then middle-align the contents of the merged cell A1.
3. Cut the contents of cell K2 and paste them in cell A2. In cell B2, insert a formula that uses the NOW function to display today's date.
4. Merge and center the range A7:A13. Rotate the text up to 90 degrees in the merged cell, and then change the width of column A to 6.00.
5. Copy the formatting from the range B9:K9 and apply it to the range B11:K11.
6. In cell B12, decrease the indent by one level. Copy the values in the range C28:G28, and then paste only the values in the range C12:G12. Delete row 28 to remove the repeated data.
7. Use Goal Seek to set cell C4 to the value of 500 by changing cell C11.
8. In cell H8, insert a Line sparkline based on the data in the range C8:G8. Fill the range H9:H13 without formatting based on the contents of cell H8. Change the color of the sparklines in the range H8:H13 to Tan, Background 2, Darker 90% (3rd column, 6th row of the Sparkline Theme Colors gallery). Add markers and then change the marker color to Blue, Accent 2, Darker 25% (6th column, 5th row of the Sparkline Theme Colors gallery).
9. Copy the formula in cell K8 and then paste the formula and number formatting in the range K9:K12.
10. In cell C5, insert a formula that divides the total orders for August (cell C13) by the total number of orders (cell I13). Use an absolute reference to cell I13, and then copy the formula to the range D5:G5.
11. In cell H17, insert a Column sparkline based on the data in the range C17:G17. Display the High Point and Low Point in the sparkline, and then fill the range H18:H25 without formatting based on the sparkline in cell H17.
12. Copy the formula in cell I17 and then paste only the formula in the range I18:I25.
13. Change the chart in the range J14:O25 to an Area chart. [Mac Hint: In the 2-D Area section of the Line chart drop down.] Enter Average Orders per Month as the chart title. Show data labels for each month.
Your workbook should look like the Final Figures on the following pages. Save your changes, close the workbook, and then exit Excel. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
The value in cell B2 of the Orders and Inventory worksheet has been intentionally blurred as it will never be constant.
