GETTING STARTED

1. Save the file SC_PPT365_EOM1-1_FirstLastName_1.pptx as SC_PPT365_EOM1-1_FirstLastName_2.pptx

a. Edit the file name by changing “1” to “2”.

b. If you do not see the .pptx file extension, do not type it. The file extension will be added for you automatically.

2. To complete this Project, you will also need the following files:

3. With the file SC_PPT365_EOM1-1_FirstLastName_2.pptx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.

a. If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.

PROJECT STEPS

1. You work with Marion Kreszky, the Community Development Planner in the town of Forest Hills. Marion will be presenting plans for a proposed public ice rink to local residents. She asks you to enhance the presentation she has prepared. Begin by changing the title font to Century Gothic (Headings) on the title slide. Change the title font color to Dark Blue, Text 2 (4th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette). Italicize the subtitle text.

2. On Slide 2, ("Ice Rink Overview"), create a multilevel bulleted list in the left content placeholder. Enter World class modern arena facilities as the first level paragraph. Enter Develop Creekside Park as year-round recreation area as the second first-level paragraph. Enter Next to soccer field and community pool as a second-level paragraph.

3. On Slide 3 ("First Phase"), turn on SmartGuides, proportionally resize the picture so that it is 5.5" wide and then position the picture as shown in Figure 1.

4. With Slide 3 still displaying, enter Explore possibility of converting one rink to year-round indoor soccer field within five years. in the Notes pane.

5. On Slide 4 ("Phase 2"), change the text to Second Phase in the title placeholder. Change the first paragraph to Pro Ice Sports Shop in the text placeholder. Change the second paragraph to Full-service Bar & Grill in the text placeholder. Change the third paragraph to Seasonal outdoor ice rink in the text placeholder.

6. On Slide 5 ("Programs & Services Offered"), change the slide layout to Title and Content.

7. After Slide 5, insert a new Slide 6 using the Title and Content Layout. Move Slide 6 so that it becomes the last slide in the presentation, Slide 7.

8. On the new Slide 7, enter See You On the Ice! in the title placeholder. Underline the title text "See You On the Ice!". Insert the file Support_PPT365_EOM1-1_Hockey.jpg in the Picture content placeholder. Proportionally resize the picture so that it is 6" wide and then position it as shown in Figure 2.

9. On Slide 6 ("Benefits of Ice Skating"), create a multilevel bulleted list in the content placeholder. Enter Low-impact full body workout as a first-level paragraph. Use the Indent key to enter Increase flexibility, balance, and core strength as a second-level paragraph indented under the first paragraph. Enter Reduce risk of cardiovascular disease as a third-level paragraph. Enter Relieves stress and improves mental fitness as a first-level paragraph. Enter Builds self-confidence as a first-level paragraph. Compare your screen to Figure 3.

10. Check the spelling in the presentation to identify and correct all errors.

In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
