GETTING STARTED

1. Save the file SC_PPT365_4A_FirstLastName_1.pptx as SC_PPT365_4A_FirstLastName_2.pptx

a. Edit the file name by changing “1” to “2”.

b. If you do not see the .pptx file extension, do not type it. The file extension will be added for you automatically.

2. To complete this Project, you will also need the following files:

Support_PPT365_4A_Logo.jpg

Support_PPT365_4A_Plant.jpg

3. With the file SC_PPT365_4A_FirstLastName_2.pptx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.

a. If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.

PROJECT STEPS

1. You work as an investment consultant for Wallace Investments, based in Los Angeles, CA. To inform your clients about investment options, you've developed a presentation that describes the concept of sustainable investing. Begin by modifying the Parallax theme in the presentation so it includes the fonts used in company communications: Change the theme fonts to Candara.

2. View the Slide Master and then make changes as follows:

a. Select the Master Title Slide Master (the top slide master).

b. Change the background style to Style 9.

c. Change the font size of the Master title style to 32 point.

d. Change the alignment of the Master title style to Left.

e. Rename the Title and Content layout (third layout from the top) to Definitions. (Hint: Do not include the period.)

3. With the Definitions layout displaying and still in Slide Master view, draw a Picture content placeholder anywhere on the slide master and then modify it as follows:

a. Change the height of the Picture content placeholder to 1.5".

b. Change the width of the Picture content placeholder to 1.5".

c. Turn on Smart Guides and position the Picture content placeholder near the top right corner of the slide master as shown in Figure 1.

4. With Slide Master view still displaying, deselect the selected slide master, then insert a new slide master and format it as follows:

a. Rename the Title and Content layout to Final. (Hint: Do not include the period.)

b. Delete the content placeholder from the Title and Content layout in the new Final master.

c. Change the slide background to the Stationery texture.

d. Insert the picture Support_PPT365_4A_Earth.jpg.

e. Crop the picture to the oval shape.

f. Change the height and width of the picture to 5".

g. With Smart Guides on, position the cropped picture in the center of the slide as shown in Figure 2.

h. Close Slide Master view.

5. On Slide 2 ("What is Sustainable Investing?"), apply the Definitions layout.

6. With the Slide 2 still displaying, insert the picture Support_PPT365_4A_Logo.jpg in the Picture content placeholder.

7. Go to the final slide in the presentation ("Be Part of the Change!") and apply the Final layout from the Final master to the final slide in the presentation.

8. On Slide 3 ("Environmental Factors"), use the Thesaurus to insert the first synonym for "effectiveness" that appears at the top of the synonym list.

9. On Slide 4, change the theme to Office for that slide only in order to use the Office color scheme that is used for all SmartArt diagrams prepared by the company.

10. On Slide 5 ("Social Factors"), change the slide background to a pattern fill to match the backgrounds of Slides 3 and 6 as follows:

a. Apply the Dotted diamond grid pattern (7th row, 3rd column in the Pattern gallery).

b. Change the foreground color to Green, Accent 2.

c. Change the background color to Lime, Accent 1, Lighter 80%.

11. On Slide 7 ("Sustainable Investing Milestones"), give the audience more time to read the content as follows:

a. Adjust the timing so the slide advances after 00:05.00.

b. Deselect On Mouse Click.

12. On Slide 8 ("Types of Sustainable Investing"), modify the background as follows:

a. Hide the background graphics.

b. Insert the picture file Support_PPT365_4A_Plant.jpg as the slide background.

c. Change the offset top to 5%.

d. Change the transparency of the picture in the slide background to 75%.

13. Check the spelling of the presentation.

In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
