GETTING STARTED

1. Save the file SC_PPT365_EOM5-2_FirstLastName_1.pptx as SC_PPT365_EOM5-2_FirstLastName_2.pptx

a. Edit the file name by changing “1” to “2”.

b. If you do not see the .pptx file extension, do not type it. The file extension will be added for you automatically.

2. To complete this Project, you will also need the following files:

3. With the file SC_PPT365_EOM5-2_FirstLastName_2.pptx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.

a. If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.

PROJECT STEPS

1. In your role as Training Coordinator for Smart Works in Dallas, TX, you have developed a presentation about apprenticeship programs for trades in the construction industry. You need to edit this presentation before delivering it to high school students who may be interested in trades training. Begin by comparing and then merging the current presentation with the presentation Support_PPT365_EOM5-2_Trades.pptx. Accept the first tracked change in the presentation—the change of theme. Go to the next tracked change on Slide 5 ("16 Trades in Construction") and accept the change to the content placeholder. Verify that each bullet item is now shown in a separate box. Go to the next tracked change on Slide 6 ("Get Paid to Learn") and do not accept the tracked change so that the percentage in the oval shapes remains 80%. End the review and answer Yes to the message.

2. On the title slide, enhance the text "Trades Training – Construction Industry" with the Glow: 5 point; Red, Accent color 4 text effect.

3. On Slide 2, recolor the picture using Sepia. Apply the Film Grain artistic effect. Further enhance the picture by changing the border color to Red, Accent 4 (8th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors palette) and the border weight to 6 points.

4. On Slide 3 ("Benefits of a Career in Construction"), use Format Painter to apply the formatting of "Steady employment" in the first line to "physical activity" in the second line.

5. With Slide 3 still displayed, modify the animation applied to the picture by removing the Wheel animation and then adding the Fly In animation. Add the Hammer sound to the Fly In animation.

6. On Slide 4 ("Support for Trades Training"), change the bullet for "Skilled trade workers..." to "...include paid apprenticeships" to a picture using Support_PPT365_EOM5-2_Hammer.png. Increase the size of the picture bullet to 150% of text. Change the line spacing for all the bulleted text to 1.5.

7. With Slide 4 ("Support for Trades Training") still displaying, animate the Grants text box using the Diamond motion path. Use the Animation Painter to apply the same animation option to the Apprenticeships and Scholarships text boxes. In the Animation pane, change the order of the animations so that the Apprenticeships text box is animated before the Grants text box.

8. On Slide 6 ("Get Paid to Learn"), change the left margin of the text in the oval shape (contains the text "80% on the job") to 0.6". Change the right margin to 0.6". Change the line spacing of the text in the oval to 1.0. Use the Format Painter with objects to apply the formatting of the oval to the rectangle. Draw a connector using the Connector: Elbow Double-Arrow connector style between the middle of the rectangle and the upper far left edge of the oval.

In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
