PROJECT STEPS

1. You are writing a research report on visual communication for your Business Communications class. You must write the paper in the MLA style and incorporate suggestions from your instructor, Professor Garcia. Modify the Normal style by changing its font to Times New Roman, the font size to 12 point, and the line spacing to double with no blank space after paragraphs.

2. Apply the modified Normal style to the first four paragraphs in the document, from "Indira Mana" to "21 April 2027".

3. Insert a Plain Number 3 page number at the top of the page, add the last name Mana and a space before the page number, and then close the Header & Footer tab.

4. Create a First Line indent of 0.5" for all the body paragraphs, beginning with "As the term suggests…" and ending with "…makes sense to the viewer."

5. Reply to your instructor's comment attached to the sentence "Infographics use data...and mind maps." with the following text: I added a footnote.

6. Find the sentence "Statistical infographics distill...types of visual representations." After the period in that sentence, insert a footnote with the following text to define the term "histogram": A histogram groups numbers into ranges.

7. Modify the Footnote Text style by changing its font size to 12 point, the line spacing to double, and the indentation to a 0.5" First Line indent.

8. In the third body paragraph, before the period at the end of the sentence, "Statistical infographics make…TaylorMade design firm." insert a citation placeholder using Choi as the name of the placeholder.

9. In the fourth body paragraph, insert a citation to the existing Westby source before the period at the end of the sentence, "Comparison infographics compare…products or services."

10. On page 2, find the sentence "Process infographics present…through an orientation." Replace the word "present" with a more appropriate synonym that begins with the letter "s".

11. Read and then delete the comment attached to the sentence "Sixty-five percent of viewers...written in a list." Before the period in that sentence, insert a citation to a new source using the information shown in Table 1.

Table 1: Web Site Source

Type of Source | Web Site Corporate Author (check the checkbox) | Design Group Name of Web Page | Power of Infographics Year | 2027 Month | March Day | 10 Year Accessed | 2027 Month Accessed | April Day Accessed | 20 Medium | Digital

12. In the next paragraph, edit the Zapata citation to add 16 as the page number.

13. Delete the Lanier source from the Current List of sources since it is not used in the paper.

14. Find all instances of the word "structure" in the document and use layout as the more accurate replacement.

15. In the blank paragraph at the end of the document, use the Insert Bibliography command to insert a list of sources without a built-in heading.

Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following pages. Save your changes, close the document, and then exit Word. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
