Support_WD365_9A_Content.docx

3. With the file SC_WD365_9A_FirstLastName_2.docx open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the footer.

a. If the footer does not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy.

PROJECT STEPS

1. You are an associate consultant at Owens & Bowman, a consulting firm in Chicago, Illinois. Your manager, Shawn Hartley, has started a report on the athletic leisure clothing industry for a new client. He has already created some content and wants you to complete the report. Switch to Outline view, and then insert a subdocument as follows to include the text Shawn has already written:

a. With the insertion point directly before the Table of Figures heading, show the entire document.

b. Insert the document Support_WD365_9A_Content.docx to incorporate Shawn's content. Click "Yes to All" in response to the pop up message asking if you would like to rename the Heading 4 style in the subdocument.

c. Select the subdocument and then unlink it so that the subdocument becomes a permanent part of the master document.

d. Close Outline view.

2. On page 2, find the first sentence in paragraph 2 ("The athletic leisure clothing industry, … from gym sessions to everyday activities.") and then insert the following endnote after the period: Athleisure is casual, comfortable clothing designed to be suitable both for exercise and everyday wear.

3. On page 2, in the final paragraph beginning "Consumers today…" select the text "[euro symbol]" and replace it with a euro sign (symbol 20AC).

4. Above the fitness tracker picture on page 3, select the placeholder text "[insert cross-reference]" and replace it with a cross-reference to Figure 2 that displays only the figure label and number.

5. On page 4, add a caption to the picture of the woman doing yoga so that the caption is displayed as follows: Figure 3: Brands are expanding their clothing lines to include more diverse size ranges.

6. On page 4, at the end of the first sentence in the "Challenges in the Athleisure Industry" section, mark "competition" as an index entry.

7. Create a link between the "Athleisure Target Market" text box on page 4 and the blank text box on page 5 so that the text can continue from page to page as necessary.

8. On page 4, insert a Page break before the "Future Outlook" heading so that the heading appears on a new page.

9. On page 2, insert a hyperlink from the text "future prospects" at the end of the first paragraph to the heading "Future Outlook".

10. Insert breaks as follows to prepare for adding a table of contents to the document:

a. Position the insertion point to the left of the "Background" heading on page 2 and then insert a Page break to add a new blank page for the table of contents.

b. With the insertion point still positioned to the left of the "Background" heading, insert a Continuous section break to keep the table of contents in a separate section.

11. Position the insertion point before the page break on the new page you just added and then insert a table of contents using the Automatic Table 2 style in the Table of Contents gallery. [Mac Hint: Classic style.]

12. On page 3 (the page beginning with the "Background" heading), insert a header as follows:

a. Insert the Slice 1 header.

b. Break the link to the previous section.

c. Go to the previous section and then remove the header.

d. Close the Header & Footer tools.

13. On page 8, insert a new blank paragraph after the "Table of Figures" heading, and then insert a table of figures using the default format to list the figures in the document.

14. On page 9, insert a new blank paragraph after the "Index" heading, and then insert an index using the default format.

15. Add an entry to the index as follows to include a missing subtopic:

a. On page 6, in the "Digital Transformation" section, directly after the text "interactive shopping experiences", mark an index entry that uses digital transformation as the main entry and interactive shopping experiences as the subentry.

b. Hide the index codes and other formatting marks, and then update the index to include the new entry. (Hint: If you are having trouble hiding the index codes, click the File tab and then click Options. In the left pane of the Word Options dialog box, click Display. If the Hidden text check box in the "Always show these formatting marks on the screen" section contains a checkmark, click the box to remove the checkmark, and then click OK.)

16. Change the document margins to apply a 0.5" gutter to the Whole document to prepare for binding the document.

Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following pages. Save your changes, close the document, and then exit Word. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
